Rec’d of Richard Hope 38/- in full for poor tax… Took physic today. Not at church in the morning. I dined on some boiled veal and pork and greens. My servant at church in the afternoon. Sam Jenner sat with me during church-time and also drank tea with me, and to whom I read 2 of Tillotson’s sermons.
At home all day and not at all well. Oh, may I, may I through divine assistance become a new man! May this be the arae of my thorough conversion.
