…My wife and self at church in the morning… We dined om a suet pudding, a piece of boiled beef; parsnips and potatoes. After dinner I set out for London. I called at Framfield and rec’d of my mother one bill on Mr Ed Pollard at the Swan Inn, Southwark… value £15. I lodged at the Bull at East Grinstead where I met my father Slater. I received of him to pay in London of his account 2 bank bills of £20 each, and 13/6 in cash. My father stayed there all night…
