After breakfast I rode to Heathfield where there was a sale of shop goods, one Stephen Smith and his son having failed in trade. I bought several odd things for which I paid Mr Robert Olive the salesman 3.5.3. From thence I went to my brother’s at Framfield, where I drank tea (or rather dined)… After tea my brother and I went to Uckfield Fair where we stayed about 1 hour and half. I came back with my brother by Framfield but did not stay. I came home about 7:50… A very fine pleasant day, and I think there was a large fair.
