Paid Thomas Cornwell in cash 4/8 for 1 bushel flour… In the forenoon went to Lewes on a horse lent me by Mr Ben Shelley. I gave Mr Sam Durrant in cash £70 and received of him one bill on Sir Joseph Hankey and partners… value £130, and for the remainder (£60) I gave him my note of hand, payable to him or order on demand with interest.

I came home about 4:45 without dining anywhere… Paid Messrs Richards and Comber 4/4 for 1 m 6d nails bought of them today…
