Early in the morning my brother came over and borrowed my horse to ride to Lewes upon. Thomas German at work for me all day and Mary Heath a-washing for us half the day; both dined with us on a piece of pork and a piece of beef boiled and greens.

Rec’d of Mr John Vine Jr the two guineas I lent him the 24th ult. Dame Page drank tea at our house. At home all day and pretty [busy], but took very little money. Paid Thomas German 16d for his day’s work.
