Rec’d of my father Slater 3.5.0 on account. Rec’d of Mr Laurence Thornton one bill drawn by Thomas Houghton of Tealby on Mr George Flower, stationer in Cannon Street, London… to Mr Thomas Wright or order (and by him endorsed) and for which note I have neither paid Mr Thornton any money nor given him any receipt for the same…

In the forenoon my father and mother Slater went away and in the evening Thomas Durrant went home with my sister. In the evening our late servant Mary Martin came to be with my wife, who is most extremely ill. At home all day and thank God pretty busy.
