Mr Mason breakfasted with us, and then he and I walked to Waldron where Mr Elless came to us about 11:50. We surveyed several pieces and came home about 6:15… In the evening finished reading the examination of Francis Delap Esq, late Provost Marshal General of the Island of Jamaica, before a committee of the Honorable House of Assembly, Nov. 10th, 1756, wherein I find him cruelly used in person, goods, fortune and reputation by Governor Knowles.

…Took physic today. My wife and servant at church in the morning, and I stayed at home. We dined on a plum suet pudding and the remains of some cold veal pie. My wife and servant at church in the afternoon. At home all day. In the evening Mr Elless sat with us some time.

…After dinner I walked up to Mr Vine’s. Dame Anne Dallaway and Master Rich and his wife drank tea at our house. At home all day and busy. In the evening Thomas Davy at our house.

After breakfast I walked over to Mr Bonwick’s at Waldron in order to meet Mr Mason, but he not being there I came home immediately… Mrs Coates drank tea at our house… Mr French made me a present of a hare. In the evening read part of Wiseman’s Chyrurgery.

At home all day… Just as we had dined, Mr Richard Warriner came in, who also dined with us on the remains of meat we left. I gave him an order. In the evening read part of Wiseman’s Chyrurgery.

In the forenoon walked up to Mr John Vine’s… Paid Mr Thomas Herman… 1.15.6 in full for a horse-load of pipes he brought me today; viz.,

In the evening Mr Elless and I wrote out a copy of two letters of attorney for Elizabeth Mepham, and then I carried them down to Mr Porter’s for his approbation, where I stayed and supped. Came home about 9:40.

After breakfast Mr Mason called on me, and we walked over to Waldron where we surveyed several pieces of land and came home about 3:40. In my absence our late servant Mary Martin came to see us; she dined with my wife on the remains of Wednesday’s dinner… Our late servant lodged at our house all night.

…Mr Mason and our late servant dined with us on the remains of Wednesday’s dinner and also drank tea with us, Mr Mason being at our house all day a-plotting some land which we have measured. At home all day. In the evening Thomas Davy at our house…

In the morning Mr Madgwick’s servant George Richardson came to see us and breakfasted with us. And he, myself and Mary Martin at church in the morning… They both dined with us on a hare roasted, a leg of mutton boiled, a currant pond butter pudding, turnips and potatoes only Mary Martin and our servant at church in the afternoon… George Richardson drank with us and went away about 5:10. Thomas Davy at our house in the evening, to whom I read three of Tillotson’s sermons. Mary Martin lodged at our house.

At home all day… Molly and Bett Fuller drank tea with my wife and stayed and played at brag in the evening in company with Mary Martin; my wife and myself won 2d. Molly and Bett Fuller went away about 8:20. Thomas Davy at our house in the evening, who stayed with us till near 11:30. In the afternoon sent our servant to Chiddingly.
