I gave him again in cash £30 to pay to Messrs Margesson & Co. for me, and likewise paid him 10/- on account for carriage, which with the 30/- he kept makes 40/- on the carriage account. Paid him 2/6 for a pocketbook; paid him 21d for lemons, both of which he bought in London. Drew on Messrs Margesson and Collison to John Crouch or order, 21 days’ date, val: £10.
