At home all day. Paid Joseph Fuller 3/6 for 13 lbs beef. Mr Shoebridge and his son called on me in their road from Alfriston to Hartfield.

At home all day and busy. Paid Joseph Fuller 1½d for the kidney bought the 25th inst. Paid Josias Smith 0.16.6, which sum Frank Smith paid Messrs Crowder and Woodgate for me and is in full of their account. Rec’d of Charles Diggens 21/- for one of the tubs of brandy bought the 23rd inst. Gave T. Nicholls about 4d of tobacco for a few jobs done in my garden. Paid for bread etc. this week about 12d.

Monday, June 30 1755
Received of William Vine 5/6 in full to this day. Balanced accounts with Francis Smith and agreed to pay Mr James Hutson 2.17.10; and Smith owed me 0.9.9, which makes 3.7.7 and is in full to this day. I likewise received of Francis Smith 1.10.9 which I am to pay Mr Hutson with the above 2.17.10, which together makes 4.8.7 and is in full for the money Francis Smith received of Mr Pollard for Hutson’s hops, with the carriage being deducted.

This day paid Mr James Hutson 4.8.7 as I yesterday agreed with Frank Smith to do. Afterwards I balanced accounts with Mr Hutson and received of him 0.14.4, which with 1.4.0 I owed him makes 1.18.4, and is in full to this day, Joseph’s schooling excepted. Rec’d of Robert Hook 4/- for bottles of brandy. Paid Joseph Fuller 2d for a piece of mutton for broth. Rec’d of Rippington’s boys 6d for 1 week’s schooling, due on Saturday last.
